HBO's 'Recount' - the 2000 election debacle

Oscar winning director Sydney Pollack and HBO will bring 'Recount' to cable viewers this coming spring, in an attempt to show an unbiased view of the history and process of what went down in the 2000 election. Many consider that election, recount, and Supreme Court decision to be the most controversial in history forever changing our view of fair elections.

"One of the most highly anticipated political telefilms being released next year is “Recount,” a fast-paced depiction of the behind-the-scenes drama that took place in Florida during the disputed 2000 Gore-Bush election." says Politico

Ed Begley Jr. who plays Gore's attorney says the film gives an even-handed, historically sound approach to the saga. Ed plays David Boies in the drama, also starring Kevin Spacey, John Hurt, Laura Dern, Tom Wilkinson and Denis Leary.

Interesting timing for it's release, just months before an important election, drawing attention the the f'd up election process in this country that still isn't fixed, and the time period between now, the film's debut, and the elections, which seemingly show if anyone intended to fix the problems, they are running out of time to do it.
