Fox uses sensationalism and scare tactics in fire reporting

Fox talks down to their viewers. They use extreme voice range in exaggerating something as if the National Enquirer was being read to a 12 yr old. They don't sound like news commentators, they sound like sensationalists. Their viewers have been tuned in so long, they don't even notice the way they are being talked to.... and it's intentional on Fox's part. They sell sensationalism. They sell fear, and it's all for an agenda. A Republican owned corporation with the intent of wealth and power by the large corporations who line the pockets of the Republican party. It really is that simple. The Republican party has always been a corporate party. Corporate profits are good for the economy thus the needs and well being of corporations comes first.. always. Profits and power first, taking care of the needs of the American people comes 2nd, and the needs of the infrastructure of the nation comes 3rd.

According to Raw Story who did some investigating on the remarks by a Fox spokesman, they did not receive "100's of comments" regarding the possibility of terror related to these fires. Raw Story found only 2.

Bush Administration Blocking Other Whistleblower Cases
The Justice Department is using a legal loophole to block 50 similar cases against other Iraq contractors. The cases have been filed under the False Claims Act, which allows whistleblowers to sue contractors suspected of defrauding the government and keep a portion of the penalties. The Justice Department is obstructing the cases by repeatedly asking for extensions, leaving many cases in limbo for years.8 A Truman Committee could help shine a spotlight on these charges. Thursday 25th:
CNN still reporting 3 dead while other outlets are saying 8 dead
One of the largest fires is being confirmed as arson
over 700,000 acres destroyed
Stadium plans to be clear of refugees in time for Sunday's game
Bush stopped in today for his photo opt and to put his arm around a Bushie for the cameras

Wednesday:
San Diego has "narrowly" avoided a "massive" power outage this afternoon. They were able to pull together an east and west corridor of power, send out warnings and pleas to everyone to not use dishwashers, AC, or any unnecessary electrical use, and they also got 10% of the power they needed from Mexico, whom they've had an ongoing relationship with in sharing power when it's needed.

Bush has signed off on disaster relief to help the people affected by the fires.



Wednesday 3:25pm pt- MSNBC is reporting that Tuesday night police in So Calif shot and killed a man who officers approached to see if he was trying to start a fire. San Bernardino police say the man fled when they approached the Arizona man to ask questions. The man later ran his truck into the police (cruiser?) and then the police opened fire. Needless to say the details are still a bit sketchy. They are reporting 3 separate spots where they believe fires were set and are declaring those crime scenes.

Orange County Fire Chief: "Had we had more air resources, we could have been able to control this fire"

"Nonamnesiac", a forum poster on HuffPo, summed up the media's reaction quite well I think.

"The MSM were quick to get on the offensive on this one. On the MSNBC "Moron Joe" show, Dixiecrat-without-epithet Joe Scarborough simply attacked those experts from California who emphasized the needed equipment to successfully fight these horrible fires were in Iraq, along with trained manpower.

Scarborough basically screamed his moronic outrage that the California officials who pointed out the missing equipment and trained manpower necessary to effectively fight the fires were in Iraq were being "political" and was so loud and strident that he cowered poor, weak, Joe-supplicant-sycophant Mika into echoing Scarborough's phony outrage. Of course airhead Willi Geist, fresh from reporting on Britney, Lindsay and Paris joined in the attack on the experts by Moron Joe.

I remember morons like Joe who screamed and yelled their stupidity at civil rights demonstrators in the 60s, thinking they could silence truthtellers with loudly screamed lies. Moron Joe was in rare form this morning -- attacking truthtellers once again, with little Mika at his side.

They both should be sent packing."

Update 11pm: 3,000 Marines evactuated from Camp Pendleton today; More than a half-million people evacuated in San Diego County alone; 400,000 acres burned; Winds remain high; Fire Dept says, 'there's no end in sight" more on the fire

Arnold called Bush and now Bush will be in California on Thursday when he originally said it was premature to make a visit. Obviously Thursday it will be a photo-op for him and Arnold, and a burden on the people fighting this fire because of the huge entourage that goes everywhere Bush goes, that will only be in the way.

Side note: earlier today Maria Shriver, Arnolds wife made an appearance on one of the news shows to talk about the evacuations. She looks terrible. To say she had on
a thick amount of black eye make-up doesn't do justice in describing her. She looked completely drugged up (to me), or maybe drinking (?).. but what I saw, there was no doubt there was something going on in that woman's face. You could see it in her eyes. Seriously it was shocking enough to me to see her that way, it was worth noting here. Supposedly today she had a preplanned engagement in Hosting Hillary Clinton in a fund raiser. I don't know if they still held it, I haven't heard anything more about it and Maria did not mention it in her 5 minute interview today. But there was no question that something was going on there. It was a combination of intensley thick black eye make up in the middle of the day, her eyes looked fluttery, starry, and her facial expression, just looked really bad..like something was really going on there..
