Republicans block Gore world Enviro-Concert

Why? because they're Republicans and they're hate mongers

Southern hate for America - This time proudly displayed by Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.

The resolution from Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) to allow Al Gore to use the Congressional lawn as the Washington venue of the Global Warming Live Earth concert was quickly denied by the Republicans in the Senate. Though the area isn't normally used for these type of events, the Democrats argued that this free concert would motivate people to 'participate in a political rally to support a worldwide humanitarian cause'.

Mitch McConnell (R-KY) objected to Reid’s resolution and buried it in committee. After 2 votes, it remains stuck there and although McConnell said his objection was for “the time being,” concert organizers are racing to prepare venues worldwide for the July 7 telecast and major artists arranging busy summer touring schedules. So barring a sudden change of heart, this block likely spells the end of their ability to have the concert on the Congressional lawn. This comes days after Mr.Gore’s appearance on Capitol Hill to address Global Warming issues, where he was greeted by skeptics and ignorance on the right. Live Earth is a 24 hr concert staged across 7 continents with the goal of raising worldwide awareness Global Warming. The telecast is expected to draw 2 billion people. The concert in Washington would be a free event arranged not to interfere with Congress, and sponsors would have assumed all expenses and liabilities from the event. Kevin Wall is to produce. Madonna, The Rolling Stones and Prince have recently been added to various Live Earth venues.

While some may argue that the resolution was a stretch from the beginning, Republicans are not likely to win any cool points, or even votes, with this move. Having artists such as Bon Jovi, Pharrell,Faith Hill and The Red Hot Chili Peppers asking worldwide viewers to take Global Warming seriously with a backdrop of the U.S. Congress would no doubt have been a strong visual symbol. Rest assured if this were a concert promoted by some right winger, then the Republicans would be jumping at the chance to sponsor it there in Washington.

What it boils down to is, Republicans are hateful unAmerican kool aid drinking sheeple, who spend their time demonizing any liberal or any Democrat, labeling them as the enemy. They spend all their time bashing Katie Couric, Rosie O'Donnell, Cher, "Hollywood" in general, Jon Stewart, etc. They are traitors to their own nation. They put politics ahead of the well being of their country and countrymen. Well keep it up, let their children suffer the consequences of what they do in 2007, during this Bush administration. It's called 'just desserts'.. and I'm not necessarily talking about this one thing they are blocking ONLY because it's an event Gore is involved with, I'm talking about the world who hates this country now. Let the republican's children suffer the consequences of this... just desserts baby.

This is a copy and paste from a member of the political forum on Craigslist. It is a perfect example of the hatefilled right, because you see things like this all the time from the right wing in forums across the internet. Dumbed down Americans ruining this country filled with hate for anyone who isn't a Bush sheep.
