2 Top Air Force Officials resign after nuclear heads mistakenly flown across country

Wow this may be a first. Actual accountability within the Bush administration? Kudos to Gates for doing his job. This may be the 1st sign of integrity in this administration's entire 8 years in office.
Chief of Staff Gen. T. Michael Moseley and Secretary Michael W. Wynne were ousted resigned over the department's concern over two incidents, including the August,2007 flight of a B-52 bomber that flew across the country with nuclear weapons.

Gates also cited this year's discovery that four nuclear warhead fuses were accidentally shipped to Taiwan in 2006.

In August, a B-52 bomber flew from North Dakota to Louisiana with the crew unaware that six nuclear-tipped missiles were on board. Four officers were relieved of duty afterward, including three colonels.
We always assume the most responsible, most intelligent, competent people are running every corner of our government to keep us safe and prosperous. Well maybe not in the White House but I think Americans just assume other aspects are top gun folks. If the incompetence were ever really seen on a daily basis, I think we'd live in fear every day of our lives.
